Â鶹ÊÓƵ rated one of the best in the world
The Â鶹ÊÓƵ is ranked one of the top 200 universities in the world and top 25 in the UK according to the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2020. The worldwide report puts the Â鶹ÊÓƵ 24th in the UK and 166th in the world, one place up from last year’s rankings.
Based on a set of carefully calibrated performance indicators, that measure an institution’s performance across teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook, it is the only university ranking to be independently audited by professional services firm PricewaterhouseCoopers and trusted worldwide by students, teachers and governments.
Professor Edmund Burke, Acting Vice-Chancellor at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ, said: ‘Our improved position within The Times Higher Education World University Rankings league table further endorses the world-class status of the University. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our colleagues and I would like to thank them for their efforts over the past year. We are proud of our status as a global research university and are pleased that this status is reflected in the latest ranking’.
The report considers almost 1,400 universities across 92 countries making it the largest and most diverse ranking in the world to offer insight into the influence and achievement in global higher education.
