Leicester academic publishes analysis of contemporary photographer Luigi Ghirri

Dr Marina Spunta, Associate Professor of Italian in the University’s School of Arts, has co-edited a book (with Jacopo Benci) examining the work of leading Italian photographer Luigi Ghirri.

The photographer Luigi Ghirri (1943–1992) was one of the most significant Italian artists of the late twentieth century. This volume is the first scholarly book-length publication on Ghirri to appear in English and aims to introduce his work to a broader audience and to position Ghirri as a key voice within global artistic debates.

has been published by Peter Lang and is one of the outcomes of the British Academy/Leverhulme Trust-funded research project .
