Leicester featured in Telegraphs nicest things to have happened in 2016 list

The University has featured in a , compiled by The Telegraph.

News that a by encouraging people to get outside and doing more exercise, features at number 11 in the list.

NASA's Juno spacecraft which successfully entered Jupiter’s orbit earlier this month ranked as number eight on the list. The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is home to the only formal UK science lead for the Juno mission - a team from our has been involved in the development of the craft and will be using Juno to conduct their own research on Jupiter.

The historic Premier League win by Leicester City Football Club was named tenth in the list, described by experts as the most improbable victory in football history.

Here on campus, we got involved with the and the celebrations which culminated at Victoria Park - right on our doorstep.

Our Geology students also gained national and international media coverage for their , which involved them monitoring the seismic activity produced by elated Leicester fans during home games at the King Power Stadium.
