In a rapidly changing global business environment, skills studying business research is crucial to allow you to critically assess and analyse complex business problems and enable you to generate insights and develop evidence-based solutions.

Our MRes in Business and Management is a 12-month full-time distance-learning course designed to be studied anywhere in the world, which lets you balance your academic study with other commitments.

Throughout the course, you will develop foundational knowledge in research methodologies, critical thinking and data analysis, with a focus on the business and management sector. The course has been designed to equip you with the skills necessary for advanced studies, particularly if you are planning to pursue a PhD or research-intensive role in academia, consultancy or industry. Entry requirements

Entry requirements

You will need to have at least one of the following academic qualifications:

  • First or second class honours degree from a UK university, or
  • Equivalent degree from a non-UK university or academic institution, or
  • Postgraduate degree or diploma from a recognised institution, or
  • Higher Education diploma with a minimum of three years' appropriate and relevant work experience (defined as having worked in a supervisory, managerial or professional role)

English Language Requirements

IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. If your first language is not English, you may need to provide evidence of your English language ability. If you do not yet meet our requirements, our English Language Teaching Unit (ELTU) offers a range of courses to help you to improve your English to the necessary standard.

If you are resident outside the UK and the Republic of Ireland, you will need to pay a deposit of £3,000 to secure your place. This will be subtracted from your total tuition fee.
