Support for conflicts and world events
Created as a living memorial for all local people who made sacrifices during the First World War, and built on a legacy of kindness, we are committed to supporting our staff, students, and wider community impacted by ongoing conflicts or world events across the globe. Since 2018 we have been a University of Sanctuary, supporting refugees and asylum seekers to help them to fulfil their potential, through scholarships, research and supporting education projects such as Bright Path Futures and the RefugEAP Programme.

Our student support
- Mental health, welfare and wellbeing support and signposting for students through our Student Support Services and . Schools can provide academic support and advice, such as for mitigating circumstances, if a student has been unable to submit or attend an assessment on time due to significant events beyond their control.
